Half Life Alyx - borrowed a friend’s Quest (though getting Quest 2 next week) and even with limited room and on low settings it’s light years ahead of any VR game I’ve played until now - and what an ending! But Hades might just pip it, I’ll know for sure once I’ve beaten it a few more times.
I REALLY want to play it, but just don't want to shell out for it just yet. About to move house, and will have more space and a less janky VR setup after. Watched a let's play of it, but don't think that really captures the joy of it
Not exactly games that flew under the radar, but Personal 4: Golden and Persona 5: Royal were such fantastic escapes while I was trapped in the house this spring and summer.
I'm currently obsessed with Star Wars: Squadrons, as the ace Rebellion pilot fantasy has been long-simmering since childhood and I'm decently good at it.
One of them is on PC right? Been meaning to play, I think I played one Persona about 10 years ago -- 2, maybe? -- on PS2, but haven't touched series since.
And yeah, Squadrons definitely on my list. Haven't heard a bad word against it! You playing in VR?
4: Golden is on Steam now, yeah! I played the Vita version a few weeks before it was announced and released on PC.
I think its widely regarded there was a big step up for the series with the release of the 3rd game in terms of style and plot, and 5 was another huge leap forwards just in terms of art direction, music, UX. I'd recommend starting with 4 for sure, it's very charming.
I have described it as the ultimate "dad" game. It is absolutely massive if you want to keep playing it forever, it is relaxing, pretty, and somehow very deep and demanding mechanically but also mechanically SLOW, so you don't feel stressed or overwhelmed ever.
I like the sound of it - I can deal with something demanding if it's slow and doesn't overwhelm. Might wait for a drop in price, looks like it's currently full price, and only on the Epic Games Store.
Yep. It does drop regularly to like $33 or something. The season pass will more than double the size of the game once they finish it, so if you like the base definitely consider that add-on
Yeah. It is driving trucks in mud and snow. It's a successor to the Spintires/Mudrunner series. Think of it like American Truck Simulator but the driving is always fun and interesting? And it's also more objective focused than those ones. I would say it's very accessible. If you play video games and you enjoy driving cars then I think it will get its hooks in you. The beginning can be slow as you're figuring it out, but I play with some friends and can help you with tips or help you in multiplayer clear some of the early bits :D

Yeah, playing Squadrons with PSVR. So good.
Snowrunner - endlessly playable. It has been the one meditative game that has calmed me down all year.
Nice! That's the vehicle sim one right? How accessible is it? Do you need to be into the genre?

If it drops before November you can use the $10 Rocket League coupon (claim that game for a coupon)

I wondered where that $10 had gone! I thought it was for in-game RL items. Good to know I can spend it elsewhere, cheers
