I still can't make my mind up. I think the Xbox Series S seems like the best value, especially with Game Pass. But I really like the idea of getting a PS5 and burning through all the PS4 games I missed, while keeping Xbox Games Pass on my (albeit ageing) PC.
For me, it was the xbox series x. A lot of the ps5 games are coming to ps4 (and PC), the game pass is great - plus, I can use all of my old gear with the new console (I'll start with multiple controllers which is great for family play). I don't want a digital only console tho, because I still buy games not on the pass and I want to "own" them lol.
I've gone for the Series X this time, as I reckon my PS4 Pro will last for a few more years yet on the Sony side of things, and I'm really into the idea of Games Pass. I will likely grab a PS5 some point next year, but ultimately I'm still waiting on that knock-out PlayStation exclusive.
That's true - I guess if you've never played DS before, a fully upgraded remake might be a big sell. I'm drawn to the PS Plus collection - never got round to God of War, etc, and getting a bunch of great games in collection for a monthly fee would keep me busy at launch, I think
I was really lucky that my friend gifted me his old laptop - that is a laptop from last year with RTX and SSD (!) - so I’m sorta future-proofed on the PC/Xbox side of things, that’s why I’ve preordered PS5 for their exclusives, also I have so much bound to the PlayStation ecosystem I can’t really let go of it
Blimey - generous! Yeah, I'm thinking the same, playing most Game Pass games on my laptop, and new releases on my PS5. Laptop can still handle most things, especially indie stuff, for a few years, I hope.
I told myself I was going to skip out on consoles altogether this generation, but since my PC isn't exactly made for gaming I think I might go for the PS5. I didn't have a PS4 and would like to catch up on some of its titles while still being able to pick up upcoming games.
Nice! Yeah I'm definitely a PC gaming advocate but the prospect of spending £1,000 on a new one (currently just got a laptop) isn't exactly appealing. Planning to keep laptop for non-demanding stuff.

Definitely get the appeal of actually owning them - I used to love watching my shelves slowly fill out.

Fair - there aren't any PS5 exclusives announced, right (ie, games not coming to PS4?). Game Pass is a ridiculously good deal
There are a few, like Demon's Souls remake, but that's not quite an essential for me, and Miles Morales & Forbidden West are confirmed for PS4 too
